I really enjoy Carl Benedikt Frey's perspective on technological progress. Reading "How Progress Ends" right now, it seems to confirm that the EU's approach to regulate in order to accelerate adoption is likely not a promising strategy in general but that the EU could leverage it's bureaucratic strength to increase the uptake of new technologies ... In our own conversation with Frey for our newsletter Work/Code, I was also intrigued to hear about what AI may mean for the current metropolitan centres of knowledge work. But it seems that the central argument of "The Rise of the Creative Class" - that a mix of cultural and educational institutions and an open culture creates new innovations - still holds, which is encouraging thought! https://workcode.substack.com/p/carl-benedikt-frey-professionals
